How to treat pet spots
Urine turns alkaline shortly after exposure to air. A recommended pet spotter, or a solution of half white vinegar and half water, is slightly acidic and neutralizes the urine salts. Even after a good cleaning some salts may remain, which can discolor the fabric and collect odor-causing bacteria.

Cover the spill with white paper towels. Never colored paper, which can leave a stain. Use a thick stack to absorb as much as possible.

Blot by stepping on the stack. Repeat with fresh towels until nothing transfers. Do not rub.

Apply a spotting agent. Avoid over-the-counter spot removers; they leave a sticky residue that attracts soil. Call Brad at (530) 277-9060 for recommended products.

Repeat steps 1 and 2. Do not over-wet the spot. Blot until dry to the touch. If the spot remains, stop and give us a call.
